Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for Staff of Shri Hospital, Jaipur

On May 5, 2015, MFJCF conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Shri Hospital, Jaipur.

In Jaipur, Jagatpura based Shri hospital is a well known hospital in Medicine, Pediatrics, Ortho, ENT, Dental, General and Gynecology specialization.  It is a 60 bedded and well equipped hospital which serves the general public.

Mr Utpal Rajoria, Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizens Forum, explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation primarily focusing on the types of donations, how to diagnose brain death, tissue donation, the Transplant Law of India and statistics on the said subject. A short film on brain death was shown. The session was conducted in an interactive manner where the participants chipped in with their views on recent coverage of organ donation stories in the media and also with unhesitant inquiries throughout.

The pictures and stories of few of our donors were also shown which the participants related. Dr Gopal Khandelwal, MD, Director Shri Hospital also filled the pledge form with staff and spoke few words in favour of organ donation. 21 participants attended the session and 8 donor cards were picked up.
