MFJCF was invited for the Fifth Collaborative Conclave for Organ Donation organised by the ORGAN India under the aegis of NOTTO at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.On August 04, 2024, ORGAN India invited Mrs. Bhavna Jagwani, Convener, MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum and Mr Govind Gurbani, MFJCF Member, to speak at the Fifth Collaborative Conclave for Organ Donation, organised at Silver Oak hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Dr. Anushree Nair, Project Director, MFJCF, also attended the conclave. The chief guest of the event was Prof. (Dr.) Atul Goel, Director General Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The conclave was attended by medical professionals, NGO’s , SOTTO’s and ROTTO’s representatives. Prof. (Dr.) Atul Goel, Director General Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India; Dr. Anil Kumar, Director, NOTTO; and Ms. Anika Parashar, Chairperson, Parashar Foundation, ignited the lamp to begin the conclave. Dr. Goel in his address to the audience emphasized the disparity between the supply and demand for organs in India. He placed a strong emphasis on preventing organ wastages. He also shared his perspective on the rising cases of accidents and lifestyle issues that India faces, urging people to prioritize their lifestyle and health in order to avoid organ failures. At the end, vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Aprajita Verma, Chief Operating Officer, ORGAN India.
