The second, MFJCF-sponsored programme on organ donation for villages in the month of November 2021 was broadcast on 101.2 AIR on 27th. This show was a National Organ Donation Day special broadcast.
All India Radio’s program for villages, Gram Bharti, features discussions on various social, cultural, economic and agricultural topics in the local Rajasthani language. AIR has almost 4000-5000 live listeners via their mobile app, and via radio it covers 70% area of Rajasthan accounting for more than 50,000 live listeners.
MFJCF’s program on organ donation is played during Gram Bharti. In the program, a short drama on Angdaan which showcases the essence of organ donation is played in the first segment. At the end of drama the toll free organ donation helpline number 1800-103-7100 is shared with the listeners.
Mr Rajiv Arora, Chairman of MFJCF was the guest speaker for the episode. He answered various questions related to organ donation including:
- What is organ donation?
- Who can be an organ donor?
- What is brain death?
- What organs and tissues can be donated?
- How to pledge to be an organ donor via driving license?
- How is MFJCF working towards increasing awareness for organ donation?
Towards the end, the audience were encouraged to talk promote and support the cause. He also thanked SBI Foundation and SBI Cards for their support in promoting the cause.
