On September 10, 2024, an awareness and sensitization session on Organ Donation was organized by MFJCF(MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum) at the Reserve Police Lines, Jaipur. Police personnel, being first responders, are in a unique position to impact organ donation processes, especially in accident cases. Their role in facilitating timely organ retrieval, ensuring legal and procedural compliance, and promoting public awareness is crucial. The session commenced with an introduction to MFJCF’s mission and initiatives, followed by an in-depth discussion led by Mrs. Priyanka Bhatt, the Program Manager of MFJCF. She emphasized the significance of organ donation in saving lives and reducing the burden of organ failure in India. The session was concluded by Dr. Damini Singh, Project Coordinator at MFJCF, who recapped the key points of the session and thanked the police personnel for their participation. She reinforced the importance of their role in organ donation and urged them to continue supporting the cause both professionally and personally.
She also encouraged everyone to pledge to become organ donors, underlining that a single donor could save up to eight lives. The session ended on a positive note with many attendees expressing interest in registering as organ donors.
Close to 122 police personnel were sensitized.
